Hillary Clinton sat down for an interview with CBS on Sunday and discussed her election loss and her new book, What Happened.
Clinton partly blames Trump’s win on her failure to connect with the anger of voters, stating, “They wanted me to share their anger. And I should’ve done a better job of demonstrating, ‘I get it,”. She also places blame on former FBI Director James Comey for announcing in late October that the FBI had formally re-opened their inquiry into Clinton’s handling of classified information while serving as Secretary of State.
Clinton argues that attacks made by Sanders made it possible for Trump to run his “Crooked Hillary” campaign. This point has been debated since previews of her book were published. This segment from Late Night With Seth Meyers on the subject is worth watching.
She discusses dealing with misogyny throughout the campaign in her book and has also launched Onward Together, a political action organization dedicated to raising money for progressive causes.
Hillary announced that she is done running for the presidency and will not be returning in the 2020 election. However, she states she is not done with politics because the world does need to change.
