Donald Trump has endorsed Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore by using Kellyanne Conway as his mouthpiece.
Four days ago, Conway went on Fox News and claimed that she was the “first” White House staffer to voice her support for Moore’s victims.
“Whatever the facts end up being, the premises, of course, the principle, the incontrovertible principle, is that there is no Senate seat worth more than a child,” Conway said. “And we all want to put that forward.”
She went on to complain about media coverage of the allegations.
“I do find that the mainstream media want to talk about this issue more than almost anything else. And again, we’re not telling Americans what’s in the tax plan for them. If this is just going to be a war of soundbites, then the tax plan will not be as successful. I’m sorry, I think it’s incumbent upon everyone who has a role and a responsibility to inform people what’s going on on Capitol Hill to tell them what’s in this plan.”
Well, Conway appeared on Fox News again on Monday morning and reversed course entirely.
Instead of caring about the victims, one of whom was only 14-years-old when Moore sexually abused her, Conway put the Senate seat first because passing Trump’s tax plan is more important than keeping a pedophile out of office.
“Doug Jones in Alabama, folks, don’t be fooled,” Conway said. “He will be a vote against tax cuts. He is weak on crime, weak on borders. He is strong on raising your taxes. He is terrible for property owners.”
“So, vote Roy Moore?” Brian Kilmeade asked.
“I’m telling you that we want the votes in the Senate to get this tax bill through,” Conway replied.

By lying about Doug Jones in support of Roy Moore, Conway just demonstrated Trump’s stance on the sexual assault allegations. He would rather put a sexual predator in the Senate to get his tax bill passed than let the Democrat win, a Democrat who has not been accused of committing any crime.
Trump and Conway have gone too far. Supporting a pedophile is never okay. But they would rather put their agenda above doing the right thing.
