After Trump’s lovely war-inducing comments, some senators were not very happy about it. Grab a seat and some popcorn folks because Senator McCain just called him out for it.
McCain Says ‘That Don’t Help’
Sen. John McCain told an Arizona radio station that Trump’s remarks don’t help matters. He appeared on KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos saying he took exception to the president’s comments, “you got to be sure you can do what you say you’re going to do.” McCain wished Trump was more like Teddy Roosevelt in that he spoke softly and carried a big stick. “Great leaders I’ve seen don’t threaten unless they’re ready to act and I’m not sure President Trump is ready to act.”
When asked if Trump was issuing a direct threat to North Korea, McCain said “I don’t know what he’s saying and I’ve long ago given up trying to interpret what he says. That kind of rhetoric, I’m not sure how it helps.”
