Sean Hannity has tripped over his own feet again — during a particularly hamfisted attack on the media on Thursday.

Hannity Trips Himself Up Again

NBC had just reported that the Justice Department, at the behest of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is once again investigating what connections, if any, Hillary Clinton may have to the 2010 Uranium One deal. But apparently, the Fox News anchor remained unaware that NBC actually did a report on this. So it’s pretty funny that Hannity, who’s been all over this like white on rice couldn’t resist tweeting that this is something that “fake news” CNN and NBC News would never cover, Mediaite reports.

And Hannity apparently didn’t notice the MSNBC logo in the story below.

Except NBC did cover it. Ooops!

And several prominent Twitterati peeps did notice.

And MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle thanked Hannity for inadvertently supporting the network’s reporting on this issue.

Raw Story reports that CNN apparently hasn’t reported on Sessions’ renewed investigation, but both networks have covered the investigation, prior to this, as well as Republican efforts to accuse Clinton of wrongdoing.

Clinton has denied playing a role in the State Department’s approval of the sale, and a Justice Department official who signed off on the deal also said the former Secretary of State didn’t intervene in the sale, Snopes reports.

Furthermore, Snopes reports that the Uranium One package wasn’t something Clinton was able to veto or approve. The site noted:

“Among the ways these accusations stray from the facts is in attributing a power of veto or approval to Secretary Clinton that she simply did not have. Clinton was one of nine cabinet members and department heads that sit on the CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S.), and the secretary of the treasury is its chairperson. CFIUS members are collectively charged with evaluating proposed foreign acquisitions for potential national security issues, then turning their findings over to the president.”

And Snopes went further than that:

“By law, the committee can’t veto a transaction; only the president can.”

This video explains the situation:

Which is why it’s so ridiculous that Hannity and others spend so much time belaboring this. If anyone is promoting “fake news” it’s him and his cronies at Fox News.

You can watch MSNBC not report on this in the video below.
