The United Nations Just Bashed President Trump Over the Paris Accord

Again, President Trump is taking a step in the wrong direction when it comes to improving our country. Earlier this morning, the official United Nations Twitter account fired back at Trump through a subtweet:

This tweet was triggered by reports saying that Trump is expected, and most likely will withdraw the United States of America from the Paris Accords. If Trump pulls the United States, we will join only two other countries (Syria and Nicaragua) that are currently standing alone against the 194 other countries in regards to stance on the Paris Accords. We would not be entirely withdrawn until November of 2019.

What does this mean for us? If the United States withdraw, it will likely trigger the withdraw of developing nations involved in the Accords, mostly from South East Asia. Princeton professor of geosciences and international affairs spoke out about the possible removal of the United States, “it is now far more likely that we will breach the danger limit of 3.6 degrees,”. On the other hand, China (also the world’s largest producer of greenhouse gases, whom we trail at second place) has announced that it would continue working towards the prevention of climate change, regardless of what the United States do.

The presence of the United States is VITAL in the Paris Accords. If the Trump Administration withdraws us, we are blatantly telling the world that we do not care about what happens to our planet. We are saying that the world can die, and we have nothing against it.
