Trump Cover Up: Time Magazine Covers at Trump Golf Resorts Are Fake

Fake Time magazine cover

The Washington Post caught Trump hanging up Time magazine covers at some of his golf resorts which show him cross-armed with the “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS… EVEN TV!” slogan on top of the portrait. Time Magazine confirmed yesterday that the covers never existed.

The Cover Does Not Exist

In fact, the said covers are a photoshopped version of a March 2nd, 2009 issue magazine cover which featured actress Kate Winslet. Trump’s version of the cover is dated March 1st, 2009, but the magazine noted that they never published an issue on that particular date.

It is unclear why would Trump order the covers and hang them up at many of his golf resorts. He could have just bragged about the Time Magazine cover that featured him as “Person of the Year.” It may have something to do with the fact that the magazine had placed other disturbing leaders as “Person of the Year” on the cover such as Adolf Hitler, Nixon, and Kissinger.

Time editors asked Trump Wednesday to remove the covers immediately.

I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover,

A spokesperson for the publication said.

Trump And Intellectual Property Rights

The recent take-down request stems from the illegal use of intellectual property. However, it is not the first time the President has a total disregard of other people’s intellectual property rights. In May, he made headlines after passing another family’s coat of arms as his own. The said family threatened him with a lawsuit.

Furthermore, it is not the first time Trump resorts to false Time Magazine covers to make a point. Last month, National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland handed the president two fake magazine covers about an incoming ice age to combat climate change theory in public forums. Fortunately, Trump was stopped in time by his advisers, and the covers were never made public.
